Design Concept
Fluid Geometry Meets Architectural Elegance
The Bionic Wall project demonstrates Eva Jiřičná’s vision of transforming the A1 building lobby into a sculptural, immersive space, leveraging HIMACS to achieve seamless, flowing forms with striking visual impact. Inspired by natural structures and the geometric harmony of the Voronoi diagram, the design creates a dynamic interplay of shadow and light, evolving throughout the day. The fluid 3D surfaces and sinuous reception desk combine functional workspace needs with an artistic, contemporary aesthetic, resulting in a lobby that is both practical and inspirational.
Innovative Use of HIMACS
Thermoformed HIMACS Brings 3D Sculptural Surfaces to Life
HIMACS was selected for its extraordinary thermoformability, allowing the creation of complex, seamless 3D forms with fluid curves and a monolithic appearance. Its robustness, non-porous surface, and durability ensured the installation could withstand intensive daily use while maintaining its aesthetic integrity. HIMACS Alpine White was used to diffuse LED lighting, highlight sculptural textures, and provide a hygienic, easy-to-maintain surface. The material enabled precise fabrication and a bespoke load-bearing system, allowing the wall and reception desk to interact harmoniously with the architecture while delivering a visually captivating focal point for visitors.
