Project Overview
Principesa Stools is a shortlisted project in the HIMACS 2025 European Architecture Design Awards. Selected by the HIMACS internal jury, this project stands out for its unique concept, innovative design, and exemplary integration of HIMACS material.
Design Concept
Sculptural Functionality in Fluid Form
The Principessa Stool embodies Umberto Caretta’s vision of playful, multifunctional furniture, combining sculptural elegance with ergonomic design. Its flowing curves and dynamic silhouette make it equally suitable as a seat or side table, for indoor or outdoor spaces, blending aesthetic appeal with versatility and practicality.
Innovative Use of HIMACS
Ultra-Thermoforming for Extreme Curves
HIMACS Ultra-Thermoforming Alpine White enabled the creation of the stool’s continuous, ergonomic geometry, allowing extreme curvatures without compromising strength or surface uniformity. Durable, luminous, and weather-resistant, the material also supports bold colour combinations and multifunctional design, making the Principessa Stool both a visually striking and highly versatile object.
